This weekly fishing report features multiple lakes in the Brainerd Lakes Area located in central Minnesota. It’s provided by Nate Berg Fishing Guides.

It doesn’t matter what you want to fish for, they are biting and despite the heat wave all fish species remain fairly shallow.

Walleyes can be found anywhere from 6-20 feet of water on the bigger lakes and 12-25 feet of water on the smaller lakes. Look for green weeds on points or inside turns. Some fish can be found on the tips of points on gradual sloping areas.

Panfish continue to be very active eating crawlers and leeches. You can find them in 10-15 feet of water. Largemouth are very hungry and shallow. Some of the best bites are early in the morning on top water lures. Pike are active and feeding mostly during low light periods on the more dense weed covered sharp edges.
