New World Record on Water Ski Stilts Set in Brainerd, MN

Chris Dens set the new World Record for tallest water ski stilts ridden on July 12, 2020.

Brainerd man, Christopher Dens, set a new world record for water skiing on 11-foot stilts; including the skiier the total height is 17-feet. He set the record on July 12, 2020.

Dens is a Brainerd native, local dentist, and one of the founders of the Brainerd Ski Loons Water Ski Show Team. He’s been working on this for a few years and is excited to incorporate it into next summer’s water ski shows; this season’s shows were canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

When asked about setting the record, Chris humbly said, “It’s a great feeling! But you should have seen all the failed attempts.” Congratulations, Chris! We’re proud of you.

The Visit Brainerd team encourages everyone to learn more about the Brainerd Ski Loons and put a water ski show on your Brainerd Bucket List.
