Birds Observed This Past Week in the Brainerd Lakes Area

The early spring bird migration is off to a slow start with the recent weather. Birds being observed and or reported within the Brainerd Lakes Area include. Bald Eagle, Sandhill Crane, Great-blue Heron, Eastern Bluebird, Trumpeter Swans, Woodduck, Mallard, Hooded Merganser, Peregrine Falcon, Redpoll, Purple Finch, House Finch, American Goldfinch, Robin, Turkey Vulture, Raven, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Junco, Ring-billed Gull, Barred Owl, Common Merganser and Cedar Waxwing.
