Fall Bird Migration

August marks the start of the fall bird migration! The first group to watch for along exposed mudflats or shallow shorelines are the shorebirds.

The American Goldfinch is one of the last birds to nest in the state and uses the thistle down to line its fine woven nests. Placing nesting materials into a suet cage can help attract them.
