Brainerd Birding Report: July 17, 2023

Judd Brink is a local guide and naturalist who provides a weekly birding report during the spring bird migration, the summer nesting season, and the fall bird migration for Visit Brainerd. This is the 11th season Judd has provided birding reports about the Brainerd Lakes Area.

Today’s birding report comes from the Brainerd lakes area: Sandhill Crane, Marsh Wren, Sedge Wren, Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, Savannah Sparrow, American Kestrel, Common Raven, Black-billed Magpie, Broad-winged Hawk, Bald Eagle, Song Sparrow, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Great-blue Heron, Woodduck, Mallard, Canada Goose, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Ring-neck- Duck, Blue-winged Teal, Osprey, Red-tailed Hawk, Cooper’s Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Baltimore Oriole, Gray Catbird, Brown Thrasher, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting, Chipping Sparrow, Red-eyed Vireo, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, American Redstart, Eastern Bluebird, Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Purple Martin, Belted Kingfisher, House Finch, Purple Finch, Eastern Kingbird, Eastern Phoebe, Great-crested Flycatcher, Whip-poor-Will, Chimney Swift, Common Loon, Trumpeter Swan, Northern Flicker, Red-headed Woodpecker, Pileated Woodpecker, Killdeer, Ovenbird, Wild Turkey, Swamp Sparrow, Cedar Waxwing, Clay-colored Sparrow and Black and White Warbler.
