Some sad news recently, the common Monarch Butterfly is becoming so uncommon that it was recently listed as endangered! Please consider taking a small sunny area in your yard and planting milkweeds. They are easy to grow and will spread naturally. Milkweed is the ONLY plants that these butterfly’s will lay their eggs on.

It’s a great time to think about birdscaping your yard to help attract more colorful birds!  Ask for native fruiting trees and shrubs to plant around the house or cabin to bring in more birds naturally!

Please also remember many of our Common Loons are nesting and this is a dangerous time of the year so be careful and cautious when boating around nesting loons.

Be Well and Be Safe and Enjoy watching the birds from home or out at the many trails found in the area.
