Brainerd Fishing Report: December 23, 2019
This weekly fishing report features multiple lakes in the Brainerd Lakes Area located in central Minnesota. It’s provided by Nate Berg Fishing Guides.
Ice conditions have changed for the better but we still have areas of horrible ice. Ice is ranging from 2 inches in extremely slushy areas to some areas hitting 10 inches. PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION!
The pan-fish bite remains the same as previous weeks with the best areas being in weeds or over the deep basin. The more aggressive you are, the bigger the fish get. A good night bite for crappies is happening on clearer watered lakes. Walleyes continue to be hitting in low light times of the day with afternoons into the evening being the best. Pike have really picked up their bite with larger sucker minnows being the best bet.
