Fishing just keeps getting better in the Brainerd Lakes area
Walleyes are on the chomp, just find the outside weed edge and pull some night crawlers or leeches on spinners. Fish have been very active all day with bigger fish actually coming during the mid day hours. There is still great night trolling bite going on as well. This same pattern is working on Gull, North Long, Edwards, Pelican and Alexander.
Some huge bass are also starting to go. Big small mouth and largemouth can be found on the tips of points. Drop Shotting, jig worming or live bait on slip bobbers have all been doing very good. Big bluegills are also going crazy. Look at the 14-18 foot depths off of deep water points or on the inside weed edges. Pike have moved deeper and can be found on deep seedbeds and sharp drop offs. Trolling deep diving musky baits and live bait rigging big suckers have been producing fish consistently. Crappies have continued to be active with lower light periods being better than high sun.
