Brainerd Fishing Has Been Hot, Cold and Everywhere In Between
The walleye bite has really increased during daylight hours. Fish are staging just off weed edges as well as in dense cabbage. Leeches, crawlers and light pike suckers have all been working. A wide variety of techniques have been working well. Crawler and leech harnesses have been working well off the deep edge of the weed lines. Slip bobbers and a simple split shot with an octopus hook if you are fishing weeds.
A wonderful night bite is still going strong on Gull, North Long and Edwards pulling cranks.
Bass have been absolutely insane with fish under docks as well as cabbage out to 14 feet. Whacky Rigs and sucker minnows have both been lights out.
Pike fishing remains solid trolling musky lures at 3.5-4 mph.
Bluegills have started biting heavy on weed lines and the crappies have started to bite a little later in the evening.
