Brainerd Lakes Area Seeing Great Panfish Bites
North Long, Hubert and all the smaller lakes of the Gull chain are all producing great panfish bites. Depth ranges really depend on the day. Sunny days, crappies have been tending to be more on a minnow bite and in depths from 2-5 feet. Cloudy days, bright colored plastics have been working better with fish hanging out more in the 6-10 foot areas. The bigger bluegills are schooling up on the new weed growth. Plastics and live bait have both been working well.
