Fish Are Biting in Brainerd, MN

Gull Lake still has open water and most of the small lakes have 3-7 inches (depending on the lake). The warm weather last week didn’t do any favors for us ice fishermen. If you are going to venture out, be extremely cautious.

Walleyes are still going good on Round with some nice perch also being caught if you can find them. Some decent after-dark bites are happening on shiners on the smaller lakes in the area. Crappies and bluegills have been going really well on spoons and plastics during mid-day. Look for the fish in weeds or basin areas of the lake. Pike are on the chomp with light northern suckers being the best bet.
