The Northern Minnesota Railroad Heritage Association and its members are dedicated to discovering, preserving and presenting the heritage of the railroad industry in northern Minnesota. KEY ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF THE MISSION A. DEPICTION of historic and contemporary railroad heritage of the settlement and economic development of north central Minnesota from the early 1900’s to the present by providing the following: 1/2 scale replica of the William Crooks loco and cars Operating model railroad layouts Museum (artifacts, photography, etc.) Interpretative displays and exhibits B. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES Audiences General public School tours Civic organizations Youth organizations Church groups Subjects addressed Logging, mining and other areas served by railroads Information on the operation of actual railroads in the area Operation of model railroads Instruction in model railroading skills Resource Center Library (books/periodicals) Audio visual tapes, DVD’s, films, etc.
