National Public Lands Day at Northland Arboretum
September 28 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
National Public Lands Day 2024 is a statewide event that provides unique opportunities for Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteers to participate in our largest single day of service. Locations across the state will have MNats and others out helping to make Minnesota a better place!
Friends and family are welcome to participate but must be registered to participate. Everyone will sign a photo release upon site registration. All participants will receive a free NPLD branded item and a day pass to a national park as a thank-you for participating.
Activities: Volunteers will be helping with some tree pruning on the southern portions of the Arb including: -Fitness Trail, -Monet Pond area could be a task where more volunteers are on hand to complete the work. Sand and stain the top wooden rail of the bridge there also.
Maintenance can provide an electric hand sander or two since an outlet box is near the bridge. I can provide my electric pruner (and possibly run it) for the branch pruning.
Please bring water bottles, gloves, clothes that don’t mind getting dirty. And a fun, happy attitude!
