This Halloween weekend (Saturday, October 26th), the Curse of the Vampire Orchestra will pack up and leave their traditional stomping grounds to the play a live and original score to the cult classic silent film, Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror (1922) at the James Cullen Room at Ya Sure Kombucha in downtown Brainerd.
This unique production was created by Minneapolis composer Philip Shorey and features an international symphony and choral musicians mixed with modern industrial percussion, electronica, a rock ‘n’ roll light show, and campy Halloween special effects. Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror is a cinematic masterpiece being remade by renowned director Robert Eggers, known for The Northman, The Lighthouse, and The Witch. Experience the original film the way it was meant to be seen with a live orchestra—before you witness the remake to be released this Christmas Day. Shorey has been presenting this classic film worldwide, headlining music festivals, and selling out concert halls in Europe and the United States. This will be the sixth and final season for the show in Minneapolis, but the first time the show hits the road and sets up for an additional performance. Don’t miss it!
